LG Electronics prepares for summer with free Air Conditioner servicing

March 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Jeddah — March 17, 2010 — LG Electronics, the leading innovator in the air conditioning sector, in partnership with one of its leading distributors -  Al- Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Co. -  recently announced the launch of a free air conditioning service campaign, starting on March 20.2010  for a duration of about 10 days, focused on providing  free AC maintenance facility to its customers.

“Kingdom’s weather conditions, and the fact that air conditioning equipment is installed outdoors, places severe demands on cooling capacity and efficiency,” explained Mr. Basem Hamad, National Service Manager of Al-Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker. “While LG Air Conditioning equipment is a very tough piece of machinery, engineered to withstand all sorts of abuse and keep on running, without regular maintenance an air conditioner looses about 5% of it's original efficiency for each year of operation. Studies show that with regular tune-ups a unit will maintain up to 95% of its original efficiency. LG Electronics holds this campaign every year to meet customers' growing expectations and requirements, especially during the summer months. For this, LGE doubles the Air conditioning service vans during the hot weather months, ensuring customers enjoy uninterrupted cooling when they need it most.

The mechanics of LG service campaign are simple - customers who require and are interested in getting their LG air conditioners serviced call the LG Service call center number and fix an appointment. These calls are attended by a team of technicians (Mobile workshop), who inspect, repair, and maintain the AC by in-home service without bringing the AC to the service centre.

LGe has been providing free service checkups for air conditioning equipment for more than 7 years now. The service check includes cleaning the condensing unit coils, checking the compressor, outdoor and indoor fan and motor, all electrical and mechanical components for normal operation, also verify the system charge and do the necessary adjustment, and calibrating the system’s operating pressures and temperatures against the specifications of the respective unit.
All equipment needs routine maintenance, but air conditioning equipment – since it is installed outdoors – especially benefits from it. Not only do AC’s recover much of their lost efficiency, they are less likely to suffer a major break down and run for longer at less cost.
