SGS is pleased to announce the opening of the first mechanical testing laboratory in Luanda, Angola. After the official opening on December 11, 2009 the facility provided a wide portfolio of testing services for local and international fabrication companies.
With highly experienced staff and the most modern equipment, the laboratory in Luanda performs testing services for construction materials and metal ware industries such as tensile tests up to 60 tons, root, face and site bend tests, impact tests from -60ºC to +40ºC and hardness tests (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, Micro Vickers). Furthermore, the Mechanical Testing lab provides macro preparation and examination of materials, microstructure analysis and Positive Material Identification services.
The SGS laboratory is the first facility in Angola able to offer Mechanical Testing services, and was opened as a result of the high demand for such inspections in the region.
