Follow on Google News | Rockabilly/swing guitarist Brian Setzer voted the world’s greatest living guitarist.Brian Seltzer has topped an online poll of the world’s greatest living guitarists. The former ‘Stray Cats’ member beet 97 other guitarists into first place in the poll carried out by guitar website dbTwang.com.
By: dbtwang.com Three time Grammy award winner, Brian Setzer first came to prominence as the guitarist with 80's Rockabillies The Stray Cats who split in 1984 after a string of UK and US hits. Brian then went on to record several solo projects. In 1987, he played the part of Eddie Cochran in the Ritchie Valens biopic, La Bamba. The 50 year old from New York State also played lead guitar as part of Robert Plant's 80's ensemble band. Since then, Brian, a 7 time Grammy nominee, has split his time between further solo projects and ‘The Brian Setzer Orchestra’; a 17 piece swing and jump blues band.
