Follow on Google News | Content Management Systems Ranking LaunchedThe Content Management Systems (CMS) Ranking was launched within the framework of the ‘RuNet Ranking’ project. The ranking of the CMS started on December 28, 2009.
By: Proactivity Group The ‘CMS Magazine’ catalogue provides the largest list of websites based on different CMS. This data is entered by the web design studios that are CMS agents via member area and by users and website owners via the special form on the ‘CMS Magazine’ site. The larger is the number of websites working with a specific Management System and the hire is the index of popularity of each site with the web search engines, the higher ranking gets the CMS. Along with the global CMS ranking, the local rankings are being developed basing on the following criteria: the kind of the website (corporate websites, e-shops, promo-sites, Internet portals and services, blogs, social networks); the platform (IIS, Apache, nginx); kind of license (commercial and open-source); – People can have different opinions of CMS rankings, but we have to admit that rankings are useful both for the companies and individual developers when they are facing the need to choose their first CMS or want to enlarge the list of CMSs already operating. As for the customers, they will get the full spectrum of CMS solutions and CMS-based projects available at the market, says Gaidar Magdanurov, a Microsoft MVP. The data can be entered into the ranking system till January 31, 2010 The final ranking – TOP-50 CMS of the RuNet – will be published in February 2010. The intermediate results are available on-line at the ‘Russian Internet Ranking’ page (http://www.ratingruneta.ru/ All data entered for the ranking purposes undergoes automatic testing executed by the robot developed by the Internet Agency «Business Reklama». The robot tests the site for presence of CMS by its ‘fingerprints’ - As developers we hope that the CMS ranking will enable the potential purchasers of the program products to get deeper understanding of the RuNet CMS market.
