The expansion of its IPv6-enabled products represents Edge-Core's commitment to protect future investment for its customers around the world.
IPv6, the next generation of Internet Protocol, is designed to solve the IPv4 address-space depletion problem and provide larger addressing capacity and better security baked into the protocol. As all industrial researches has predicted that the world could run out of IPv4 addresses by 2011, the call for the roll out of the IPv6 standard has become an urgent priority.
In light of this, while a wide range of Edge-Core product lines has been future-proofed with IPv6-enabled technology, Edge-Core continues to expand the IPv6-enable product lines and to further obtain IPv6 Phase 2 Logo certification for its new L3 Fast Ethernet switch, ES3628BT. Comparing to phase 1 logo, the Phase 2 logo certification expands the core IPv6 protocols test coverage to approximately 450 tests and adds new extended test categories.
