Singer-songwriter Justin Hines is a natural communicator, celebrated by his fans for his empathy and acclaimed for the elegance of his melodies as well as for his subtle, intimate vocal style. He possesses an unflagging spirit that allows him to flourish despite his rare genetic condition, Larsen’s Syndrome. He has just released SEASON’S GREETINGS, his first full-length album of holiday favorites and original seasonal compositions, including his previous hits, I’ll be Home For Christmas and How I Love This Time. The 11-track package includes Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Do You Hear What I Hear, as well as And Then There’s Christmas, one of three Hines originals on the new record. Renowned for conveying a powerful message of love and steadfast fortitude in concert and on disc, Justin’s new record follows his best-selling 2007 debut, SIDES, and this year’s still hot CHASING SILVER, with their respective hit singles, Wish You Well and Say What You Will.
In this spirit, Justin’s team has developed a new computer application called The Courage Portraits, featured on the home page of InMusic.ca, Canada’s leading web portal. Designed to let people recognize and celebrate individual acts of behavior, users can upload images and messages to the tune of Justin’s song, “Courage”, and effortlessly share their own music videos and gestures of encouragement with the world online.
Last month Justin headlined Kids Included Together’s October Concert For Courage, in San Diego, where he made a 33-story, 357-foot inner-city rappel, in his wheelchair, in support of the prominent non-profit organization. Recently, the March of Dimes honored him with the Rick Hansen Award of Excellence for his advocacy work. He has received the Roger Abbot and Don Ferguson Easter Seals Award For Achievement in the Performing Arts and a YTV Achievement Award. He is FACTOR’S* 2009 Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
