Oct. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Spa treatments aren't cheap. One day at the spa can burn a hole in a beauty junkie's pocket.

One way to save on spa treatments is to do your own home spa using spa-quality beauty products. These typically use natural ingredients that are more in line with what you might experience in a high-end spa.

Organic beauty products using natural ingredients, like the ones by Jurlique and Dr Hauschka are coveted by beauty junkies for their effectiveness, the pampering experience they provide and the quality of the ingredients used. They tend to be pretty pricey too.

Let's take Dr Hauschka, a cult organic beauty favourite, as an example.
The Moor Lavender Body Oil, an excellent home spa treat that relaxes the body, nourishes the skin and soothes the senses costs $28.95, which is very affordable considering it is organic and natural.
The Lemon Body Moisturizer is pretty affordable too at $39.95.
The aromatherapy baths are $32.95 a bottle.
The cleansing milk is $36.95.
The toner is $34.95.
The moisturizer starts at $35.95
The facial masks start at $49.95.
These are the bare minimum for your home spa experience.
Total cost:  $259.65

That is fine if you have a decent beauty budget. If you are broke, you could wait for the sales to come, or go for cheaper natural beauty product lines.

The problem is that anyone can call their products 'natural' even if it is made mainly of synthetic ingredients.
Unfortunately those that are truly made largely or wholely of natural ingredients tend to be much more expensive than their synthetic counterparts.

If you want the best, it appears that you either have to pay a premium for it, or do it yourself.

Before cosmetics were sold in stores, women used natural ingredients from the garden or kitchen for beauty treatments. These recipes may be used as beauty treats for a home spa.

The newly launched book, Your 10 Step All-Natural Home Spa is a comprehensive home spa plan that uses olive oil, honey, milk, eggs, rice flour, brown sugar and essential oil. Beauty junkies can shop at the organic section of the supermarket for the ingredients and put together their personal natural beauty spa treatments that are totally natural and chemical-free.

This pocket-sized book is available at Lulu for $12.86, through the url http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/your-10-step-a...
The ebook version may be downloaded for $7.50
