REHAB 2010 to Provide Support, Solutions and Unconventional Options for the Disabled in the UAE.

Oct. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Preparations are at full swing to launch the 7th edition of the Dubai International Rehabilitation Forum and Exhibition – REHAB Dubai 2010, next March. The Event addresses the people with special needs; their challenges, requirements, and tools used to facilitate their daily life.
With the number of Disabled reaching 10 million in the Arab World, a conference and exhibition dedicated for this group was of a great benefit. REHAB endeavors to help and support the disabled so that they integrate in the society by providing them with best education and employment opportunities, in addition to highlighting the role they can play in their societies through creating partnerships between societies and non-profit organizations, supporting and financing these associations, considering the social, physiological and physical rehabilitation of the disabled individuals, and many other related topics.
Mr. Majid Al Usaimi, Executive Director of the Dubai Club for Special Sports said that the Club will make perform maximum effort to upgrade the life of the disabled in the UAE, and help them to live their life with the utmost confident and health.

“REHAB is what the disabled need in the UAE, it is an open window to the latest products, tools, and facilities that the national and international companies can provide for the disable person. REHAB Exhibition is a great opportunity for us to know this market, check the alternatives, and make our right decisions”. Said Mr. Majid
Mr. AL Usaimi continued “REHAB 2010 is going to be the largest platform in the Arab World that includes number of workshops in which a large number of specialist doctors, nurses, educational and social workers and physical therapists.
The Dubai Club for Special Sports is one of the pioneer Clubs in the UAE that provide the disabled with the social, cultural and physical help and support they need to move on with their lives as members of the society. “We will share all of our experiences in this field with all our brothers and sisters from the Special needs” said Mr. Majid.
With more than 400 disabled registered in the club, the Dubai Club for Special Sports is trying to merge the disabled athletes with different kind of activities other than sports, such as IT, foreign languages and office management courses so they can indulge in the community and have the physical and mental ability to face the world with courage.
The UAE has a recognised participation in the Paralympics Games - Disabled Olympic Games, and 80% of the national champions are from the Dubai Club for Special Sports.
The Club‘s main objective is to bridge the gap for the disabled to achieve their goals, fulfil their dreams, and gain confidence, and a specialised conference and exhibition that provides all of this under one roof, is a bless indeed.  Said Majid
Over the past  years, REHAB hosted specialised conferences and courses that attain to the institution of university courses, standardization of rehabilitation services, creation of infra-structural facilities for the disabled, promotion of tourism for the disabled and greater coverage by the media of disabled person and issues concerning them.
In its seventh edition, REHAB will host the bellow zones:
The Assistive technology zone;
It is the place where companies can exhibit their latest technologies and products for disabled, including; physical, mental, visually impaired, deafness, and blindness.
The REHAB village;
This zone will host the Rehabilitation schools, associations & societies specialized in providing different services for the disabled including: sport activities, social, cultural & scientific activities for different kinds of disabilities under the supervision of a very specialised trainers.
Recruitment Pavilion;
 
REHAB endeavours to help the disabled to integrate in the society by providing them with best employment opportunities. The Pavilion includes Organizations and companies from the Public & Private sectors, where applicants shall submit their CV’s and have the chance to make an interview.
"We would like to change the negative image that people have for disabled, we wanted to prove that the disabled person has the ability to succeed in every field. There are disabled who are great lawyers, IT specialists, Administratives, the Disabled can reside all posts", continued Majid.

REHAB 2010 is organised by the Dubai Club for Special Sports and Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. – member of Index Holding.

After the tremendous success achieved two years ago, REHAB 2010 is 30% larger than ever, hosting 200 exhibitors from (China- Germany- Sweden – KSA – UAE- Netherlands- USA- Canada). The event is held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 15th - 17th of March 2010, and held under the patronage of H. H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid AL Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minster of Finance.
