Curtain Raiser for Grand Silver Jubilee Alumni Reunion of BITS Pilani 1979 year Admission Batch

Sept. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- For the year 2009, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science popularly known as BITS Pilani has been ranked among the top ranking universities along with IITs in various Magazine surveys such as India Today, Outlook, LiveMint etc. BITS offers degrees in various disciplines presently not only at Pilani but also at Dubai, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Recently the NAAC - National Assessment and Accreditation Council had reaccredited BITS with 3.71 CGPA out of 4 and awarded “A” grade “Very Good” status.

The alumni movement of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani located in the heart of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan has already seen the golden jubilee years. The alumni of the Institute are spread of the entire globe from Australia through Africa to America. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Alumni Association (BITSAA) organizes each year close to Gandhi Jayanthi, the silver jubilee reunion of BITSians who passed out 25 years ago.

BITSAA Pilani is all set to welcome during October 2 - 4, 2009 the alumni of 1979 admission year Batch. The Silver Jubilee year BITSians who are dreamers, performers and achievers are all coming to Pilani to share their life-time experiences to motivate and inspire the current generation of students and faculty at BITS, Pilani.

During this 25 year period, BITS Pilani has undergone a sea change in terms of infrastructure, achievements and progress in academics. Most of them will be seeing for the first time, the add-on landmarks such as The Palace like Library, Modern Lecture Theatre Complex, Green House, Animal House, several new laboratories like O Lab etc.

In a colorful function to be held in the auditorium of the Institute on October 3, 2009, the 1979 batch plans to remember and honour the professors who cared, inspired, encouraged and challenged them during their student years. The music club of the institute packed with current generation BITSians is scheming on taking the alumni to the peaks of nostalgia. Not to be left behind, the alumni are also planning to show the current generation that they too also are not too old to rock and roll and can jolly well smoke on the water and put fire in the sky.

Oh 1979 Batchwalon, Three Days from now, you will be more disappointed, by the things that you did not do, than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines and Sail away from your safe harbour to catch the desert winds in your sails. It is time to Explore, Dream, Discover and Get Together for the Silver Jubilee Reunion (SJR) during October 2 -4, 2009.
