BEIRUT, LEBANON 15 SEPTEMBER, 2009

El Rancho, a themed resort park located in Ghoudras, Lebanon, was the scene of a staged shoot out witnessed by hundreds of onlookers.

The owners of El Rancho have created a themed ‘eco ranch’, and sponsored the Wild West Festival, the first of its kind in the Middle East.

The three day event featured authentic cowboy stunt riders and gun slingers from the USA, including world record holder Brian Bosch, the ‘Shooting on Horseback’ champion from Kansas.

The Wild West Festival was created to promote the western country attributes that have captivated audiences throughout the summer, providing families with a valuable alternative in ‘edu-tainment’.

Attendees of the festival were treated to a variety of games and feasts throughout the day topped off by a first class western rodeo show each evening.

The performers recreated such  thrilling stunts as the pony express race, shooting skills from horseback, gun spinning, trick shooting and authentic Native American story telling.

Mr. Paul Naimeh, Chairman of El Rancho Resort was in attendance, wearing his trademark Stetson cowboy hat.

“This has  become a fashionable trend with many of the Lebanese and foreign nationals who have become loyal fans of our wild west theme park.” he said.

“Our concept is wholesome, authentic and for the entire family, and we are pleased by the overwhelming response of the general public to our resort and recently our Wild West Festival”

“We  also for the first time ever in Lebanon, unveiled our Navaho Tee-Pee village during the festival, providing a unique  and novel experience for families to immerse completely in the Wild West, turning the clock back on a time machine, and staying true to our theme” he added.

“The Wild West Festival will be annual event that will provide the very best in entertainment value, education of caring for animals and understanding the process of our real working ranch, and the spirit of the wild west that everyone seems to enjoy” he said.

One attendee captured the the experience of the evening in two words when asked about their opinion of the Festival with a roaring reply of  “Yeehaw, Awesome!”
