Alluring affluent Chinese tourists is now a hot topic for U.S. hospitality industry, as the crisis is still here. China Elite Focus has invited Pierre Gervois (living and working in Shanghai) to come - as the main speaker - to New York City for an exclusive seminar for marketing and sales executives of NYC hotels.
Mr Gervois said "95% of NYC hotels are not ready yet to welcome Chinese tourists". "There is still a huge work to do to really understand the needs of the new generation of Chinese inbound tourists. Just have a look at NYC hotels websites : less than 5% have a Chinese version", he added.

Born in Paris (1969), Pierre Gervois is Engineer, M. phil, and graduated from the prestigious Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). He was appointed Foreign Expert by the Chinese Ministry of Industry (CCPIT) in 1998, and worked in Beijing from 1998 to 1999.
In 1999, he joined the political staff of Mr Laurent Fabius (Former French Prime Minister), as Chief of Staff.
In 2000, he was appointed on his request Head of the Chinese affairs at the ACFCI (French National Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry & tourism), and has been involved in many bilateral negociations with the Chinese Government.
In 2004, he left the French administration to join China Associates SAS, a French consulting group as the CEO. Under his direction, China Associates SAS became one of the best renown French consulting company specialised in the Chinese market.
In 2007, Pierre Gervois joined China Elite Focus Limited, a Hong Kong marketing agency, as Managing Partner and brought his recognised expertise of the affluent Chinese consumers to build professional and innovative solutions for the tourism industry woldwide, to target the new generation of affluent outbound Chinese travelers.
Guest lecturer in several universities and business schools, Pierre Gervois is the author of the book “8 rules to understand the Europeans”, published in Chinese langage in 2003, Chinese Economy & Finance Editions.
