Mississauga, ON. — Launched this week was a website designed to solicit the opinions of teens and encourage them to write a letter to their parents. It is possible for the letter to be anonymous. Once this letter is written and sent to the project the letter will be answered by a select group of anonymous parents. The idea is unique in that it aims to offer advice from both teens and parents to both teens and parents.
The project is inspired by the creator’s conversations with adults who live lives that have no correlation with what they dreamt about while growing up. The heart of the whole idea is to inspire teens to learn to trust in the expression of themselves rather than the repression of themselves. Would the world look different if emotions and thoughts were expressed and dreams were acknowledged?
Parenting teenagers has always been a tough job and it doesn’t look like it is getting any easier — but certainly being a teenager is not getting any easier either. Teens and parents are dealing with issues such as drugs, bullying, obesity, stress, single parent homes, pressure ,illness and money issues to name a few. Could it be the art of communication is being traded for the art of survival?
Still in its initial phase the project is searching for teens between the ages of 14-19 who have something on their minds that has remained unsaid for far too long. The project is an experiment in synchronicity and is fueled by the belief that everyone has something to say.
The project is the first step in creating a book that will be made available exclusively online. To be kept updated follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/
