Aug. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Having great hair is easy to achieve with the Redken line of shampoos and GHD hair straighteners. Since both products are used by salon professionals, it makes sense to invest in both. The next thing you need to know would be the tips that go with using your GHD straightener after washing your lovely locks with Redken shampoo. Over time, you will take these tips to heart and have an easier time styling your hair.

When it comes to shampoo, nobody does it better than Redken. There are many variants of Redken shampoo, so you need to know which one will suit your hair best. Redken has shampoos for people with dry hair, brittle hair, normal hair, dull hair and more. Assess your locks and try to find the right shampoo from Redken for you to use so you will always start out with a healthy mane. The corresponding conditioner also from this brand is ideal to pair up with the shampoo. This will add extra moisture to your hair without weighing it down if it is somewhat limp.

After choosing the right shampoo variant for your hair, remember to take a final cold water rinse before you finish up. Have around two liters of icy cold water as your final rinse. This will close the cuticle tips and make your hair appear to be extra shiny and soft. Douse your hair carefully with the cold water and let it seep through the entire head before finally toweling off and getting out of the shower. You will notice the difference that the cold water final douse makes compared to using hot shower water, which will just sap moisture out of your hair and make it brittle.

Some after-shower products are also offered by Redken to ensure that your mane stays extra protected before you start straightening it. One good option is a leave in conditioner or moisturizer. When applied, this acts as a barrier against the heat from the GHD straightener so you can iron your hair to perfection without scorching the hair or even your scalp. Apply the leave in product thinly on the inside part of your hair and add a generous coating on the part that is always exposed to the sun because this part is the one that tends to be the driest of them all.

Plug in your GHD hair straightener into the socket and set it at a higher level. Wait for a significant amount of heat to come out before you start clamping it onto a lock of hair. This is better because you get to heat-blast your hair sections and make it straighten out instead of ironing one side over and over as the GHD iron gets warmer. Doing the latter with your GHD iron will only contribute to the drying out of your hair and make it straight but not long-lasting, so remember that it is better to make one good hot stroke than several warm ones.

Having straight hair is not as difficult as it may see, for as long as you have Redken:  http://www.myhaircare.com.au/brand_Redken.html hair products and your handy GHD:  http://www.myhaircare.com.au/brand/GHD/Hair_Straighteners straighteners around.
