Next week, on the 15th of August Estonian company Scandic Gaming OÜ is opening a website BidMonk.com. BidMonk is an online auction website which is mixed with role-play-game elements.
BidMonk is offering a game where you can bid for the item and the item price is rising by one cent with each bid. All auctions have a certain interval and if nobody bids during the auction's interval, the last bidder wins the auction.
Although this kind of auction system has been seen on the internet before, BidMonk has made various changes.
First of all - all auctions are seated. This means that a total of 30 people can bid on one auction at a time. This guarantees that the auctions are not too crowded.
Secondly the auction intervals are dynamic and short. Auctions start with a maximum of 30 seconds and after every hour 5-10 seconds are derived from the interval, so the auction speed increases.
The biggest change in the system are spells - each user has an opportunity to cast spells on the auction. The spells manipulate with auction settings - you can raise or lower the price, increase or decrease the interval etc.
At the moment BidMonk.com is waiting users to pre-join and receive free bids.
