BITS Pilani Rankings Sach Ka Saamna

July 26, 2009 - PRLog -- In India during the summer months the temperatures are up not only due to the solar heat but also due to the heat generated by college rankings done by various media which include India Today, Outlook, LiveMint etc. Apart from Alumni of various institutes, currently enrolled students, aspiring students and their parents eagerly look forward to the rankings for a variety of reasons.

Curiosity is to see the relative positioning of various IITs and BITS which invariably have been ruling the top 10 rankings among engineering college rankings or what one may call as T school Rankings.

Outlook has been the preferred magazine of 1.5 million readers in India, and is said to sell more than 11.2 million copies over the year. Outlook (Dated 22 June 2009) ranking of top 75 Engineering Colleges in 2009 puts BITS Pilani in sixth position ahead of IIT Roorkee, IT BHU Varanasi and IIT Guwahati. With a zooming readership of around 200,000, HT Media’s Mint is a one-of-its-kind newspaper in the sense that the company has an exclusive agreement with the Wall Street Journal to publish Journal-branded news and information in India. Livemint (June 29, 2009) ranking of top 50 private engineering colleges puts BITS Pilani with a total score of 2318 against various criteria right on the top position. When compared with the total scores of top 50 Government Engineering colleges, BITS Pilani takes the fifth postion ahead of IIT Madras which had a total score of 2305 points.
