The ‘Friendster Surf All Day’ data plan takes the Friendster mobile experience to the next level. Never before has a major telecommunications company partnered with a leading global social network to offer a social network-branded, fixed-price unlimited data plan for mobile access to a social network’s mobile site. This enables millions of Globe subscribers using Friendster in the Philippines and globally to access Friendster whenever and wherever.
The ‘Friendster Surf All Day’ data plan is available immediately to all Globe Prepaid subscribers in the Philippines. Globe subscribers can register to the ‘Friendster Surf All Day’ data plan at m.friendster.com from their mobile phones. From there, users subscribed to the ‘unlimited browsing’ option will be able to access Friendster for 24 hours from their mobile phones without extra data charges. Upon registering for the plan, users will receive an SMS text message confirming the charge of P20 to their Globe account.
After registering for the data plan, Friendster users will be shown a Globe icon in the header of the Friendster mobile site, m.friendster.com, signifying that they are browsing Friendster from their Globe mobile phone. The Globe icon also shows a time indicator that counts down time remaining on the plan. When the plan expires at the end of the 24 hours, users will be directed back to the data plan registration page to subscribe for an additional 24 hours.
Friendster users must have their mobile phones configured to access cellular data using the myGlobe Connect APN to register and use the ‘Friendster Surf All Day’ data plan. Users that do not have the correct myGlobe APN settings can text GO to 2951 or call Globe Customer Service via 730-1000 or toll free via 211.
