Military Burning of Bibles echoes the book burnings of the Nazi Regime

May 22, 2009 - PRLog -- The United States Military confiscated bibles sent by an Evangelical group to soldiers during a documentary about sharing faith in a spiritually wrenching time for Christian soldiers.  The Government took the books and burned them citing safety of our troops.  They didn’t want them to be sent back to the United States fearing that the books would be sent back through another organization.  The United States military saw this as an issue that would offend the mostly Muslim nation if they began to think we were distributing Christian material.  This would result in backlash and create an unsafe environment for our soldiers.  First of all, send the books back. Second, they are already offended that we are there in the first place. Third, you burnt holy books, a symbol of a tyrannical regime
.  Nazi Hitler had book burnings all across europe.  This was standard affair. When they wanted to control a situation and demoralize their enemy, they burned books.  When the Dixie Chicks made a statement, people were asked by the media to have CD burnings, which also echoes the Nazi Regime.  What didn’t make sense is cd’s don’t burn.  What I’m trying to say is there should have been an outlet for this type of behavior.  Should our soldiers not be free to speak, or practice their religion while in service?  Or should the United States Military tell us how to behave.  We should all be wary of things to come.  If they can do this and get away with it, what else can they do.  People should be upset, and I am.  To know my Government tortures, has secret prisons, has a paramilitary group (Blackwater International) which has posts in three major United States cities, and is wiretapping its own citizens; now burning our most holy of books. These are things dictators do.  These are things closed societies do.  This is what Obama has extended even after campaigning that he would stop this type of behavior. 8 years of Bush was enough. We voted and won. Now it’s beginning to look like 4 more years of the same disregard to our Nation’s Constitution, and our civil liberties(Want to see more about this topic?
