FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 17, 2009 – BUFFALO, NY…Birdair, Inc., the leading specialty contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures throughout the world, has completed its role as roofing subcontractor for the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium’s tensioned membrane retractable roofing system.

While the facility will not be open to the public until June 6, 2009, the Science Channel will showcase the new three million square-foot NFL venue on its hit show “Build it Bigger,” airing Monday, April 20, 2009 at 10 p.m. (EDT). “Build it Bigger,” hosted by professional architect Danny Forster, will put viewers at the center of the project, highlighting the manufacturing and fabrication of building materials and the multifaceted, meticulous process of assembling those materials into one complete structure.

The Dallas Cowboys Stadium is setting a precedent in architectural design and construction. Birdair served as roofing subcontractor for the project, supplying and installing the structure’s PTFE fiberglass membrane retractable roofing panels coated with TiO2, as well as providing clamping for the retractable roofing system.

In addition to Birdair, the project team includes architect HKS, Inc., engineer Walter P. Moore, and general contractor Manhattan Construction. The facility owner is the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

To date, Birdair has completed work on more than 65 sports facilities globally. Birdair combines breakthrough technologies with unparalleled experience to create structures that meet both facility and patron requirements. Learn more at www.birdair.com.
