Feb. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- The trend of gifting their partners a cosmetic surgery procedure as a gift on Valentine's Day is becoming popular among couples these days. While the idea of less wrinkles, larger breasts, fuller lips or a thinner waistline had always been top wishes on women’s mind, now men have started understanding their partners’ need to retain good looks and in fact gifting them these procedure on Valentine’s Day as show of love to them. Women are not behind and are gifting the husband cosmetic treatments like Liposuction, facelift and Botox injections to keep them looking young.

It was a kind of special gift for Carol from her husband Gerard C. On January 24, 2009, Carol got Blepharoplasty done by Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr K M Kapoor, for both the upper and lower eyelids at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.  Almost 2 years ago, her husband had got a facelift and Blepharoplasty surgery done by same surgeon at Fortis, Mohali just few days before Valentine’s Day, so that he could look younger. Obviously satisfied with the results, the couple came back again to Fortis and this augurs well for growing field of medical tourism to the tri-city as well as to India.

"The couple is a perfect example of how partners are undergoing cosmetic surgery to improve their faces and bodies to match their partners," said Dr. K M Kapoor, Senior Consultant, Cosmetic Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Mohali and founder of India's leading Cosmetic Surgery website, www.indiaplasticsurgery.com. "No longer is Valentine's Day all about young lovers trying to woo their beloved, it now holds a special meaning for the 'young at heart' who are celebrating their relationship and coming closer together with a special kind of bond. More and more couples are coming forward to gift a cosmetic makeover procedure to each other. I have operated five such couples in last 2 years where husband and wife got cosmetic surgery done" he added.

“The excellent facilities at Fortis Hospital, Mohali and expertise of Dr Kapoor made us come back again to the same hospital. The hospitality of Indian people is exceptional. Also the medical treatments in India are economical & of very high quality, especially important in current scenario of recession.” said both Carol and Gerard, smilingly.

However, it is important to remember that Cosmetic surgery is not like buying a dress or a piece of jewellary. It is a serious undertaking and all procedures, no matter however small; carry some risks and the potential for complications. Most important is that you acquire this gift from a qualified, experienced Cosmetic surgeon. It is prudent to take the initiative in selecting qualified plastic surgeons and not just going to someone because someone has bought the cosmetic surgery 'gift' there, so you have to get it done there.   Plastic surgery is a gift that you can't return if you don't like it! However for the uninitiated a gift card for BOTOX, Injectable fillers or a chemical peel can be a good idea to start taking cosmetic surgeon’s help for improving looks before going in for bigger procedures like Tummy Tuck, Breast implant, Liposuction etc.
