Costa Rica chosen as the headquarters of the US Food and Drug Administration in Latin America.

The USA has chosen Costa Rica to locate the headquarters for the Food and Drug Administration in Latin America, because of its strategic location and also because of the excellent relations that already exist between the two countries.

Feb. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Andrew von Eschenbach, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said that on his first visit to the Costa Rican capital, he was impressed by the infrastructure of the health care industry and by the quality of the food.

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Michael Leavitt, who also visited San Jose for the official opening, confirmed that, for the United States, Costa Rica is the most important trading partner in the region.

Within three months, the office will open with a six-person staff, and together with the free trade agreement that is now in effect with the United States, exports to Costa Rica’s main trading partner are expected to rise.

James Cahill, Managing Director of Costa Rica Invest says “that the establishment of the FDA Latin American headquarters in Costa Rica, further builds upon the existing trade relationships between Costa Rica and the USA. As a direct result of the establishment of the FDA Latin American headquarters exports to the USA will rise.”

Judy Ferguson, Public Relations Manager of Costa Rica Invest, continues “the news about the Costa Rican economy just gets better and better. The Costa Rican economy will continue to grow. The strengthening of trade relations between Costa Rica and the USA will make Costa Rica even more attractive to American Retirees and expatriates, putting more upward pressure on land prices”.

Their current development in ‘Di Pacifico Dos’ combines a teak commodity investment traded in USD on plots of land zoned for development. With a double investment in locations where land prices are increasing rapidly, backed by a sound commodity that is constantly ‘growing’, is it any wonder they have so many repeat investors creating wealth naturally?
