Jan. 29, 2009 - PRLog -- “Atlas Equities” - Barclays saw their share price increase by over one point as talks of a buyout hit the markets. Barclays are already in merger talks with Dutch rivals ABN AMRO when news was released that Citigroup and Bank of America were gathering a bid together for a buyout.

But a source familiar with the matter at “Atlas Equities” said Bank of America had no current plans to bid for Barclays, referring to a February statement by Chief Executive Kenneth Lewis that the bank had no need to make acquisitions, “Atlas Equities” learned.
