In " THE MINI-SUBMARINE ", the instruments of a mini-sub sailing in the international waters, in The Baltic Sea, break down and the mini-sub gets grounded in the Stockholm archipelago, exactly on the midnight, when U.S.S.R. ceases to exist. Its captain gets a cold
front in Stockholm, as there is no more an Embassy of the U.S.S.R and his application for political asylum is turned down by the police as well. However, the captain Yuri meets a Swedish girl who is studying Russian language and their friendship turns into romance and marriage and this way Yuri manages to stay in Stockholm. Being in possession of
highly classified information, Yuri is kidnapped by a terrorist group which wants to sell him
to a big power, but Yuri escapes luckily.
His days pass visiting many places in Stockholm and the film will enable the spectators
to acquaint themselves with this marvellous City.
Later, the couple meets a Russian billionaire who offers Yuri and his wife Eva a job in his
yacht. International adventures follow one another until finally the yacht is turned into a
Russian restaurant in the Stockholm archipelago. More adventures are to be expected
thereafter, until finally the terrorists who have been imprisoned for their act of kidnapping
Yuri are set free and they come to visit Yuri on his birthday and to have a Russian meal
in the yacht-restaurant. They bring a case of firecrackers as a gift to Yuri and lighten the
night with them, apologizing for their act. Film ends in splendour.
There is much fiery Russian music in the film, as well as a strong romance between
Yuri and Eva. Social get togethers with humor and happy atmosphere balance the excitement of the film which many a time will cause the spectators "bite their nails" !
" THE MINI - SUBMARINE " by Askin Ozcan is an exciting novelette for a splendid film doubtless to gain the worldwide interest of the film lovers.
A film production company is sought to realize the film and to market it worldwide.
Film Director Eduardo Coronado with four long films and fifty documentaries is interested
in making this film, but no agreements have been made yet, due to lack of finances.
