Discovery Initiatives announces new gorilla and chimpanzee conservation and action tour
By: Discovery Initiatives

Oct. 28, 2008 - PRLog -- Discovery Initiatives is pleased to announce a tour of rural Rwanda and Uganda, giving the opportunity to see gorillas and chimpanzees in the wild: http://www.discoveryinitiatives.co.uk/trips/Gorilla+and+Chimpanzee+Conservation+in+Action+Tour.aspx

Working closely with the Director of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Karisoke Reseach Centre, this tour was established in 1999 and designed specifically to allow our clients the unique opportunity to gain a real insight into the conservation process in the region, under the watchful eye of one of the regions top primatologists.

Unlike many other primate tours, this trip offers much more than just a glimpse into the world of the gorilla, but aims to feature a more holistic approach to mountain gorilla tourism in each area and the chance to experience the huge diversity of flora and fauna found in Uganda and Rwanda. Whilst the highlight for many people is to track the gorillas up to four times, you will also have the chance to follow chimpanzees, explore the open savannah’s of Queen Elizabeth National Park and enjoy an exciting river safari on the Kazinga Channel.

Visitors’ participation on this tour not only helps to directly fund local conservation projects through the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund (International) but also offers the chance to meet some of the colourful communities involved in this vital work.
