Safe and Secure File Transfer with Rad SFTP

Everytime you upload or download files, all your data could be compromised unless you use a secure file transfer program.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)May 27, 2008 – Rad Inks announced the release of a new version of Rad SFTP, a widget used to transfer files securely between a user’s computer and a server. Unlike the more traditional File Transfer Protocol, with SFTP all file transfers are encrypted to ensure maximum protection of your data.

Rad SFTP runs in the browser, making it unnecessary for the user to install any software on his computer. It's rich feature set includes the ability to upload and download entire folder trees, directory management and all other functionality expected of a File Transfer Program. The widget is light weight and starts up almost instantly, yet it has all the features expected of a file transfer program. It is low in resource consumption and a single installation of the software on a website can be used by any number of users.

The Rad Inks Secure FTP client makes use of the SSH FTP protocol, which despite the similarity in name with the File Transfer Protocol is a much more secure system. When FTP is used all the data and commands sent from the client to the server will be in plain text. As a result even user names and passwords are transmitted in the clear without encryption. Security conscious webmasters and organizations are moving away from FTP and embracing more secure SFTP systems where all the commands and data are transfers are encrypted.

Rad Inks, a company based in Colombo, first released the Rad SFTP applet in 2003 and at the time the product was featured on the official Java website and received high ratings from many software reviewers.

Over the last few years, the company has made a series of other ground breaking products which are in used at numerous fortune 500 companies, web portals and social networks. More information about Rad Inks and their products can be found on the companies website at http://www.radinks.com/
