The feasibility of integrated nuclear desalination plants has been proven in Kazakhstan, India and Japan and other countries. There are more then 50 new plants in the planning or feasibility stage today and the potentials are much higher. Large-scale deployment of nuclear desalination will depend primarily on economic factors but security and safe handling too.
