Nov. 12, 2007 - PRLog -- This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Advertising Photographers of America’s (APA) (www.apanational.com). To celebrate, the APA 25th Anniversary Recognition Awards were created to honor leaders within the organization who have made significant contributions to further APA’s mission while helping to strengthen the photographic community.  Voted on by their peers, six recipients were honored at APA’s 25th anniversary party co-hosted with Digital Railroad at the Sandbox Studio in New York on October 19.

“APA has always been a photographer driven organization, with the implicit directive of photographers helping photographers at its very core,” remarks Constance Evans, APA National CEO, “and it has relied on the efforts of volunteers to guide, advise and do much of the heavy lifting of the organization. It is in no small measure that APA owes its continued success to the efforts of those volunteers, who unselfishly give of their time and other valuable resources toward the needs of other working professionals.”

Evans continues, “In celebrating APA’s 25th anniversary, we wanted to recognize specific individuals in leadership who have made outstanding contributions towards the advancement of the APA mission, and in creating milestones in the area of Advocacy, Education and Standards, which are three core APA areas of focus.”
