Davor Suker Cup, International soccer tournament

Nov. 10, 2007 - PRLog -- Davor Šuker Cup for the first time in Croatia, in May 2008, an international soccer tournament is being organized for boys of up to 12 years of age in Novi Vinodolski.Seven teams that belong to soccer clubs in which Davor Šuker played and become celebrated will participate in the tournament, as well as the team from his soccer academy.
Davor began his carrer in 1984 in his native city Osijek, playing for the first-league team NK Osijek.This was followed by his move to NK Dinamo of Zagreb, where he recorded excellent results.In 1991 he went to Sevilla, where he spent the nextfive years.During this period,he become a club icon, scoring an enviable 76 goals in 153 appearances.He then went to the great Real Madrid, with which he won the championship of Spain in 1997 and the Champions League in 1998.The same years is also remembered for the World Cup in France,where he brought Croatia to the third place in the world with 6 goals in 7 games and won the Golden Boot Award as the top scorer.

After Real Madrid,he briefly went to play in Arsenal, West Ham United and1860Munich.Appering for the national team in 69 games, he scored 45 goals and established a difficult record to match.What enabled him to make goals in all possible ways was his best playing charasteristic, an inborn talent to find himself in the right place at the right time.

Davor Šuker decided to organize this international soccer tournament for boys from Croatia ( NK Osijek, NK Dinamo Zagreb, and a team from the Davor Šuker Soccer Academy ), Spain ( the clubs Of Sevilla and Real Madrid )England ( the clubs of Arsenal and West Ham United), and Germany ( 1860 Munich )to give them the opportunity to show what they can do and to have a good time, as well as to make new friendships and receive some soccer pointers from him.
