AquaCity, Europe's Number 1 Carbon Neutral Resort
AquaCity Poprad, Europe's Number 1 Carbon Neutral Resort, is bringing the penultimate round of the Slovak Rally Championship (FIA) into gear with its vision of being carbon neutral.
The fifth round of the Slovak rally will be based at the AquaCity resort complex. Starting on the 31st of August and racing through to the 1st of September, the rally will see drivers, teams and cars offset their respective carbon footprints due to the massive CO2 savings created by AquaCity.
Luton, UK, based owner and CEO, Mr. Jan Telensky, explained “AquaCity is virtually self-powered, using geothermal water and solar power.”
“This means that AquaCity saves around 27 tonnes of carbon from entering the atmosphere each day by virtually eliminating its energy emissions.”
“AquaCity was built to show the world that being green can still be affordable, enjoyable and luxurious.”
“We are helping the Tempus Rally join our vision of becoming carbon neutral by donating our carbon savings to the teams for the duration of the event. To offset the CO2 normally produced by this kind of event.”
“AquaCity is clearly demonstrating that being green doesn’t have to totally take the fun out of life; in fact we have taken that which many would view as harming the environment and turned it into a carbon saving event, precisely what we do every day at AquaCity.”

The two AquaCity hotels will be home to many of the drivers and teams throughout the event; again helping to reduce the rally’s overall carbon footprint.
The formal presentation to the winners and teams will take place in the AquaCity conference centre, a uniquely powered green conference complex.
