This free update is especially important for solving QuickBooks problems with the new free QuickBooks Linux server. QuickBooks ProAdvisors get a one user copy of the $849 QuickBooks Enterprise (and much more) for $399. Intuit lets us make extra copies of the included QuickBooks Linux and Windows multi-user servers.

Intuit calls the QuickBooks Linux server a QuickBooks Enterprise Linux server. However, the QuickBooks Enterprise database manager has always been upward compatible with and faster than the Pro and Premier Database managers. QuickBooks Enterprise Windows and QuickBooks Linux servers also do not affect the 2007 and 2006 Pro, Premier or Enterprise (QuickBooks Enterprise 7 or 6) file formats. Therefore, all QuickBooks users can use this free update with QuickBooks Linux to solve QuickBooks problems.

The QuickBooks Linux database manager is better than the Windows version in many ways. QuickBooks Linux saves you all but $40 of the $999 to $3,999 cost of Windows server software. A prominent user also says QuickBooks Linux is 10% to 20% faster than QuickBooks on Windows server. QuickBooks Linux even saves you time and money on virus and spyware software and extra memory. Finally, QuickBooks Linux should be far less buggy than QuickBooks on a Windows server. One large network provisioning company runs Linux servers for 4 to 7 years without rebooting.
