Now Tamil becomes the first Indian language whose traditional sangam period literature is released as mobile books. A team of young entrepreneurs from MobileVeda, incubated at VITTBI, VIT University, Vellore have done this

World on our Palm

Today technology development has advanced in such a way that aircrafts and computers have shrinked our globe into a small ball. Mobile revolution has even brought the entire world into our palm.

Periyar mobile book

After succesfully launching a mobile book on 'Periyar Movement' in English,  yesterday “Dravidar Kazhagam” President Thiru.K.Veeramani released the first tamil mobile book on “Life History of Periyar” at Periyar Thidal, Chennai on the occasion of their party general body meet. The book contains various important events of Periyar EVR's life in a format that can be read on most of the mobile handsets available in the market today.

Thinnai.info

MobileVeda is involved in various development activities in the field of Mobile Value Added Services (VAS) and their first launch is www.thinnai.info . This is a website dedicated for mobile books. The mobile books can be downloaded to the computer then transferred to the mobile handsets.

Sangam Literature on Mobiles

After launching Periyar's mobile book, the company is in the process of converting all Tamil literature into mobile books. As the first step, the website thinnai.info is launched today with 40+ books ranging from Thirukurral, Patthupattu, Ettuthogai, Silapathikaram and more. These books are dedicated to all the tamilians around the world.

“Our next step is to launch a platform where anybody can convert their content into mobile books and easily share it online through our website”,  says the company officials.

Other Projects

The next project of MobileVeda, in the pipeline is also interesting. It is a web based system to reduce the chances of losing mobile handset and significantly decrease mobile theft. Announcement on the project will be made soon.

The action of these youngsters is inspired by our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Dr.M.Karunanidhi and his efforts in the past and present to strengthen Tamil language in the International arena. They seek the wholehearted support of all tamilians in the success of their endeavors, says the founder K.R.Ganesh Ram.

Thanks to VIT University

The team is thanking Technology Business Incubator of VIT University for the support offered in making their dreams come true. Only with the incubation facility this project has become a reality.
