The Foundation's "Invest in Success" fundraising campaign supports the Basic Needs Centers and VC Promise Program.

Scholarship awards totaled $945,746, with 435 scholarships awarded to 270 students.

VC Promise covers tuition and health, student center and student representative fees.

Their combined expertise in education and business will benefit the students as well as the foundation.

The foundation awarded a record $940,854 through 435 scholarships last year.

The foundation presented 435 scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year, marking the highest distribution amount in the organization's more than 40-year history.

The new 2,000-square-foot teaching space was built to support veterinary hands-on skills training.

Eleanor Tilquist, a Ventura College Foundation board member for over 10 years, established annual scholarships for Ventura College students.

The foundation also provided funding to the Ventura College Basic Needs Program including its two food pantries, and the Jordana Ybarra-Telias Emergency Grant Program.

The grant will fund the conversion of course textbooks into zero-cost digital formats and contribute to a lending library for equipment.

The foundation helps provide students with the resources they need to complete their academic goals, and ultimately achieve their dreams.

November 29 is the application deadline for the Paramedic and Career Education scholarships. The deadline for all other scholarships is January 20, 2025.

One of the new board members is Dr. Claudia Lourido-Habib, president of Ventura College, who began her tenure at the college earlier this month.

Of the 230 scholarship recipients, many received multiple scholarships.
