The program offers teen participants the opportunity to learn how government works, collaborate with others, make new friends and build skills such as critical thinking, persuasive public speaking, writing and research.

Adventure Guides & Trailblazers is a family-centered YMCA program for parents and their children (ages 5-11) in the Conejo and Simi valleys.

Child care is available on school days, pupil-free days and minimum days.

The goal is to fill 230 backpacks with donated items for young scholars participating in the Y's "Find My Genius" summer learning program. The program serves low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level.

All swimming activities are supervised by Red Cross-certified YMCA lifeguards.

The YMCA also served 1,265 young scholars in summer and afterschool programs at no cost, achieving an average growth of 1.5 months in literacy and math.

Proceeds from the tournament help support the YMCA's "Find My Genius" program, a free after-school and five-week summer program for low- and moderate-income students.

Camp runs from June 9 to August 7 through the Simi Valley Family YMCA and from June 16 to August 15 through the Yarrow Family YMCA.
