CalRecycle estimates an additional 20 to 25 million tons of organic waste must be processed into compost, mulch or biogas to meet the procurement needs of California's jurisdictions.
The program, the first of its kind in California, supports the city's compliance with state requirements for organics recycling by providing free, high-quality compost and mulch to residents.
