Vantage Explains the Cost Difference Between Standard STP and Raw ECN AccountsBy: Sthenia Notes Many new traders focus only on whether an account charges commission. However, the total cost of a trade can also depend on the spread, position size, trading frequency and whether a position is held overnight. Vantage offers two main pricing structures through its Standard STP and Raw ECN accounts. The Standard STP account does not charge a separate forex commission. Instead, most of the trading cost is included in the spread. The Raw ECN account uses a different model. Traders can access tighter raw spreads while paying a commission based on the size of the position. This means an account with no separate commission is not always the lowest-cost option. A trader who places many trades may find that tighter spreads make a noticeable difference, while someone who trades less often may prefer the simpler pricing of a Standard account. Trading costs can also change as market conditions change. Spreads may widen during periods of lower liquidity or major market events, while overnight positions may also be subject to financing adjustments. Traders can compare the latest features, pricing and account structures on the Vantage trading accounts page.
