The nomination highlights the Legal Department's pivotal role in the successful carve-out and divestiture of a Careington specialty division. The team managed the multimonth process involving hundreds of asset assignments — creating highly efficient virtual data rooms (VDRs) and custom data-export strategies that expedited drafting and set a strategic blueprint for future growth.

Beyond their role in M&A transactions, the Legal team has helped enhance operations across various departments by implementing new tools to optimize intake and contract processes. The team developed a centralized SharePoint platform, serving as the main source for legal policies, forms and training materials companywide. To further expedite business activities, Legal also introduced an internal database of templatized documents, providing high-volume internal teams with the capability to autonomously produce preapproved contracts, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout.

Concurrently, Careington's Legal team upgraded their contract execution process by implementing standardized agreement platforms, real-time tracking and an AI-supported review playbook for third-party agreements. This technological push revolutionized how the company manages high-volume agreements, particularly nondisclosure agreements. Turnaround times were reduced from weeks to hours, with 86% of more than 300 NDA transactions executed without redlines or manual intervention.
