As the title states, author Penny Barber has worked for 30 years with the dead. She is a medium who is recognised for her work as a speaker and a demonstrator by The Spiritualists National Union. She has also received awards for her long service to their churches.

The author has rescued and guided souls throughout her career, and pays tribute to all rescue workers, saying, "We each know how we do it." In this, her second book, she also pays tribute to the great names of the 20th century, such as Carl Wickland, saying that now in the 21st century, we can rely on mental mediumship to achieve results, because communication is optimal in spirit realms just as it is on Earth.

Her book describes the power of the mind in generating psychic phenomena, and the role that the astral plane plays in life and death. She provides evidence of survival in the afterlife, and how our Angelic guide is always just a thought away from us.

The book also connects the neurosciences of the brain to psychic phenomena, with later chapters explaining phenomena such as shapeshifters, orbs, spirit apports, and spirit photography as seen on the book's front and back covers. It brings to life our interconnectedness with the lower astral planes and how the conditions there react and replicate how we think and act on our own plane of existence; and because we are no longer respectful of nature spirits, or Mother Earth itself, we are beginning to realise that nature is becoming indifferent to our needs.

About the Author: Penny Barber was born in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, and is a retired registered nurse. After 40 years' service to the NHS, she opened her Angel Shop in Cheshire, England. She is a qualified teacher, chartered purchaser, hypnotherapist specialising in trauma flattening, and a trained acupressure practitioner. Her first book, Hauntings Resolved: A Step By Step Guide, was published in 2009. In 2008, she received the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Award. The author also focuses on teaching and advising on soul rescue and phenomena resolution. She currently lives in North Wales, and still lectures and advises on soul rescue and psychic phenomena.
