GREATER KRUGER, South Africa - Sept. 8, 2026 - PRLog -- Safari travelers are asking more questions about what happens beyond wildlife sightings, including how reserves manage wildlife, how animals are monitored and what conservation work takes place behind the scenes. Bundox Safari Co. is responding with Live Wild & Conserve, a five-day, four-night safari combining traditional wildlife experiences with conservation learning across two private reserve settings in Greater Kruger.

The itinerary includes Bundox Explorer Camp in the Olifants West Nature Reserve and Khanya Tented Camp in the Olifants View Nature Reserve within Balule. Guests experience two different areas within the wider Greater Kruger system while each reserve remains responsible for its own conservation work, research and management.

Game drives remain central to the journey, alongside accommodation, meals, inter-camp transfers and an Olifants River cruise. At Khanya, guests are also introduced to wildlife monitoring, animal movement, research and the role of camera traps in helping conservation teams understand species presence, behavior and movement within the reserve.

Travelers can view the current Live Wild & Conserve safari (https://www.bundox.co.za/live-wild-conserve) and its conservation-focused components through Bundox Safari Co.

Camera traps are remotely triggered cameras used to record wildlife when researchers are not physically present. The information gathered over time can contribute to a better understanding of how animals use the reserve. Guests are introduced to the purpose of this work rather than being presented as researchers or conservation professionals themselves.

The itinerary also includes an activity with Down2theWire, which uses recovered poaching snare wire to create bracelets and bangles. A snare is typically a loop of wire placed along an animal path that tightens when an animal walks into it. Because snares cannot distinguish between species, antelope, predators and other wildlife can be seriously injured or killed.

During the activity, travelers work with recovered snare wire while learning about snaring and the challenges it creates for wildlife protection teams.

Live Wild & Conserve remains a leisure safari rather than a conservation volunteer or research program. The conservation component is designed to give travelers more context around the wildlife and reserves they experience while professional conservation work remains with the teams responsible for it.

Travel agents can work directly with Bundox on itinerary planning and access product and trade support through the Bundox Agent Portal (https://www.bundox.co.za/agent-sign-up).
