GradeQuill Survey Maps the Biggest Academic Challenges for UK Students in 2026

BRISLINGTON, U.K. - Sept. 5, 2026 - PRLog -- GradeQuill, a Bristol-based academic writing and editing service, has launched the UK Student Academic Challenges Survey 2026, an anonymous ten-question survey designed to map the academic difficulties faced by university students across the United Kingdom. Findings will be published openly and made available to university student support teams, academic researchers, and education journalists.

The survey covers six key areas: academic writing and essay structure, referencing and citation, understanding assessment expectations before submission, managing deadlines and workload, finding and evaluating peer-reviewed sources, and awareness of academic support services available at UK institutions.

The survey is open to all students currently enrolled at UK universities, from first-year undergraduates through to doctoral candidates. It takes approximately five minutes to complete and collects no personally identifiable information.

Preliminary data from GradeQuill's own client consultations indicates that referencing errors, poor understanding of marking criteria, and difficulty structuring long-form work such as dissertations are the most frequently cited challenges among UK students seeking external academic support. The 2026 survey will provide a broader, independently validated picture of these challenges across subjects and degree levels.
