Detroit Philanthropy to Convene Business and Nonprofit Leaders on Sept. 22

DETROIT - Aug. 29, 2026 - PRLog -- DETROIT — Detroit Philanthropy will host "The Road Ahead: How Community Leaders Are  Responding to a Changing Landscape" from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Detroit Athletic Club.

Nonprofit leaders across the region are navigating a rapidly changing landscape, from evolving donor  expectations to broader economic and policy shifts. The panel will examine the trends shaping business  and philanthropy in Metro Detroit, how organizations are responding, and what nonprofit leaders should  consider as they prepare for what lies ahead. Attendees will leave with insights to help their organizations  adapt, strengthen partnerships, and plan with confidence.

Keynotes and panelists include:

• Robert Riney, president and CEO at Henry Ford Health (keynote speaker)
• Katrina Chaves, vice president of global philanthropy at JPMorganChase;
• Ian Conyers, head of community affairs at Amazon;
• David Egner, president and CEO of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr.  Foundation.

Rachel Decker, president of Detroit Philanthropy, will moderate.

Decker said nonprofit leaders are trying to make sense of the moment and what it means for their  organizations and the communities they serve.

"This event allows us to bring leaders from across sectors into the same room to share what they're  seeing, how they're responding and, most importantly, what nonprofit leaders should be thinking about as  they prepare for what's ahead," Decker said. "It's an incredibly important conversation, and I'm excited to  bring together such a strong group of leaders to have them."
