Academic MOU With Nigerian & West African Teaching Hospitals and Universities

Healthcare Simulation Middle East opens collaboration framework for West African medical colleges. The U.S non-profit proposes zero-cost access to standardized simulation modules, global curriculum representation & international co-authorship rights.

LAGOS CITY, Nigeria - Aug. 29, 2026 - PRLog -- HSME announced formal intent to establish strategic academic partnerships and resource exchanges with tertiary healthcare institutions and university medical colleges across West Africa. The international initiative addresses the historic underrepresentation of regional clinical pathologies in global medical education.

Traditional healthcare simulation resources & international medical textbooks are overwhelmingly modeled on North American & European patient demographics. This MOU initiative offers a structured framework for West African clinical faculty to digitize, format & represent regional pathology profiles - including endemic infectious diseases, maternal & emergency trauma presentations, and localized diagnostic variations - on a global educational platform.

"Global health education requires equitable academic exchange, not one-way distribution," said Ansari Shabnam Ateeq, President of HSME & Platform Manager of thesimtech.org. "West African tertiary health centers host world-class clinical expertise and unique diagnostic insights. By partnering with university & teaching hospital leadership, we aim to digitize this clinical knowledge, illuminate local academic co-authorship and equip healthcare professionals with diverse, authentic training materials."

Through its open-access digital repository platform, https://thesimtech.org, HSME provides medical educators, clinical skills centers, and residency programs worldwide with validated, peer-reviewed clinical simulation tools.

MOU Initiative
  • Zero-Cost: All resource exchanges, scenario repository access, and instructional design collaborations are conducted on a completely non-commercial, zero-cost basis.
  • Faculty Co-Attribution: Contributing clinicians, department heads, and academic medical centers retain full intellectual co-attribution on all published educational cases and diagnostic modules.
  • Residency Training Support: Designed to complement existing postgraduate medical curricula, including frameworks established by regional accrediting bodies such as the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) and the West African College of Physicians (WACP).
  • Patient Privacy Protocols: All clinical media exchanged through the initiative undergo rigorous de-identification and privacy verification protocols in strict compliance with international data protection standards and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).

Invitation for Academic Collaboration
HSME invites Chief Medical Directors (CMDs), Vice-Chancellors, Deans of Clinical Sciences, and Directors of Clinical Skills & Simulation Centers across West African federal & state tertiary institutions to avail collaborative academic opportunities.

Institutions interested in establishing a formal resource exchange or participating in the pioneer pilot program are invited to direct official correspondence to the executive office.
