| ![]() From Omakase to Comfort Food: Ki-setsu Group Introduces Its Second Restaurant ConceptThe group behind Sushi Masa by Ki-setsu is expanding into casual Japanese dining with a new Hokkaido-style soup curry concept at Fortune Centre.
This October, the group will introduce Soup Curry by Ki-setsu at Fortune Centre Level 4 — moving from the intimate omakase experience of Sushi Masa into a more casual style of Japanese comfort food. At the heart of the new restaurant is traditional Hokkaido-style soup curry, a dish that remains relatively unfamiliar to many Singapore diners. Rather than the thick, sweet Japanese curry commonly served over rice, soup curry takes the form of an aromatic, spice-led broth. At Soup Curry by Ki-setsu, the restaurant has developed its own recipe, with the broth cooked for more than six hours before being served with rice and flash-fried seasonal vegetables. The change in dining format may be significant, but the philosophy behind it remains closely connected to Ki-setsu Group. "Ki-setsu" means "season", a theme reflected in the group's approach to Japanese dining and its use of seasonal ingredients. The restaurant will offer options including vegetable and chicken thigh bowls, creating an approachable introduction to Hokkaido soup curry for both new and familiar diners. The restaurant is scheduled to officially open on 8 October 2026 at Fortune Centre Level 4. The launch marks a new chapter for Ki-setsu Group: taking the care and Japanese sensibility behind its first restaurant and translating them into something warmer, more casual and designed for everyday dining.
