Texas Trust Gives Foundation Empowers Local Schools with $73K in Grants and Financial Literacy Kits

ARLINGTON, Texas - Aug. 17, 2026 - PRLog -- The Texas Trust Gives Foundation has awarded more than $73,000 in annual grants to eight school districts across Tarrant, Dallas, Johnson, Tom Green, and Henderson counties. The funding supports innovative educational initiatives that enhance student learning, life skills, and career readiness.

Among this year's featured recipients is Athens ISD in Henderson County, which will use its grant to fully fund and purchase books for book vending machines at three elementary schools. With a large portion of the student population classified as economically disadvantaged, this initiative provides vital, free reading materials to children who otherwise cannot afford to buy books.

In Tarrant County, Fort Worth ISD will utilize its grant to fully fund technological equipment and tools for its Entrepreneurial Makerspace and Business Incubator Classroom. This cutting-edge, collaborative learning space immerses high school students in real-world innovation, product development, and business creation, serving as a hybrid startup incubator that empowers students to transform ideas into viable business ventures.

Other school districts receiving funding from the foundation this year include Arlington ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, and DeSoto ISD, alongside three additional regional districts. Grants ranged from $6,000 to $11,000.

In addition to the monetary awards, every funded school district will receive a digital financial reality fair kit to help educators teach foundational money principles to students.

Huq noted, "By providing digital financial reality fair kits alongside these grants, we are ensuring that all students, regardless of economic background, have access to transformative educational opportunities and critical financial life skills."
