The move follows years of homelessness and represents a major personal milestone for Al-Din, who has continued building his independent digital media operation since 2005.

Al-Din was approved for public housing through the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority (BCACHA). His current monthly rent obligation is $39.

The achievement followed an extraordinary series of circumstances.

Al-Din had spent approximately 10 years living at Interfaith Sanctuary, including years at the organization's former Boise location. During his housing journey, he also stayed at the Boise Rescue Mission.

At one point, Al-Din was required to leave the Boise Rescue Mission because of shelter-capacity limitations. He spent one night on the streets before being able to stay temporarily at Boise's Crisis Center.

His circumstances changed when a case worker from the new Interfaith Sanctuary contacted him and informed him that he could return to the shelter.

Then came the unexpected news: his name had also come up for housing.

Over the following weeks, Al-Din worked with Interfaith Sanctuary case managers, completed housing documentation, addressed outstanding debts, established payment arrangements and provided information requested during the housing process.

Eventually, he received the news he had been hoping for.

His public housing was approved.

The destination: Capitol Plaza Apartments.

Interfaith Sanctuary subsequently went even further, helping furnish Al-Din's entire apartment, providing an important foundation for his transition into permanent housing.

"This is much bigger than simply getting an apartment," Al-Din said. "It represents resolve, resiliency, courage and enduring circumstances that I honestly didn't know how I was going to get through."

The new home also provides Al-Din with something essential for his professional future: stability.

After taking nearly two months away from his normal publishing routine while concentrating on his housing transition, Al-Din is preparing to return to his independent media operation as the 2026 football season begins.
