AURANGABAD, India - Aug. 11, 2026 - PRLog -- WHEN DID ONE UI 9 START ROLLING OUT?

Samsung's One UI 9 Beta launched in mid-May 2026 beginning with the
Galaxy S26 series in select markets including India, Germany, Korea, the
UK, and the US. The update then shipped pre-installed on the Galaxy Z
Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 in the first week of August 2026.
The Galaxy S26 series stable release followed shortly after, with older
flagships expected in phased waves through December 2026.

WHICH DEVICES ARE GETTING ONE UI 9?

The first wave already receiving or shipped with One UI 9 includes
the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8, and Galaxy S26 series.
The second wave expected between August and October 2026 covers Galaxy
S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy
S24 series. A later wave expected between October and December 2026
covers the Galaxy S23 series, select Galaxy A-series devices spotted in
internal testing, and Galaxy Tab S-series tablets.

WHICH DEVICES ARE NOT GETTING ONE UI 9?

Samsung has moved the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy S21 FE,
and Galaxy A53 to quarterly-only security updates, meaning these devices
are expected to remain on One UI 8.5 and will not receive the Android 17
based update. Day-to-day performance is unaffected but newer AI features
described below will not be available on these models.

WHAT IS NEW IN ONE UI 9?

One UI 9 focuses on AI-driven improvements rather than a visual redesign.
The update adds smarter on-device security that actively flags and blocks
high-risk apps the moment they are detected rather than warning after the
fact. Creative Studio integration now works directly inside the Contacts
app for personalized profile cards without switching apps. Samsung Notes
gains new decorative tools and additional pen line styles for S Pen users.
System-level AI resizability and Ask AI browsing tools built on Android
17 are available on supported devices only and will not run on older
unsupported models.

SHOULD YOU UPDATE RIGHT AWAY?

For Galaxy S26 and Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 owners the update is already
stable and shipping. For S25, S24, and S23 owners, waiting for the
official rollout notification for your specific model is the safest
approach since Samsung staggers releases by carrier and region to catch
bugs early before wider deployment.
