By: Brandinc PR On Sunday, August 16, 2026, Jain will serve as special guest of the DEVIS Annual Danceathon — a high-energy, community-driven celebration of dance, culture, and giving back. Hosted by DEVIS (Dancing Energizing Volunteering Inspiring Sahelis), a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Indian culture and building community through service, the event runs from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Diamond Palace, 1241 Grand Ave, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. This year's proceeds benefit the SKY Schools Program in the Pomona Unified School District — providing evidence-based breathing, mindfulness, and meditation programs to support students, parents, and school staff. Tickets are $40 per person (food included), or $50 at the door. Jain's story is rooted in Southern California. Born and raised in Orange County and a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, she launched Masala Bhangra® in 1999 from her parents' garage — blending the high-energy movements of Bhangra with Bollywood-inspired dance. What started as a single fitness class has since become a worldwide phenomenon, with certified instructors teaching in more than 35 countries and millions of participants embracing Indian culture through movement. "This is more than a fitness event — it's a homecoming," Known as the "Indian Jane Fonda," Jain has appeared on The Today Show, The View, Good Morning America, and Dr. Oz, and has spent more than 25 years championing the idea that exercise should feel like joy. Her forthcoming memoir, All You Need Is Balle Balle (She Writes Press / Simon & Schuster, October 13, 2026), traces the personal and cultural journey that sparked a global movement. "We're excited to host Sarina on a cause that makes a true impact in our community. Not only that, but having a staple from our community return to contribute in this way is deeply rooted in our shared values," said Manisha Sulakhe, Neepa Shah, and Mala Merchant, DEVIS. The DEVIS Danceathon is open to families and community members of all ages and fitness levels.
