Tek84 Launches TekDetect™ AI-Assisted Threat Detection for Body Scanners

POWAY, Calif. - July 30, 2026 - PRLog -- ek84, a leading American manufacturer of security screening technology, today announced the launch of TekDetect™, AI-assisted threat detection software that helps correctional facilities and other high-security organizations improve contraband detection, strengthen screening consistency, and support operator decision-making using Tek84's Intercept® X-ray body scanner. Tek84 will demonstrate TekDetect publicly for the first time during the American Correctional Association Conference this week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Booth 1107.

TekDetect provides an intelligent second review of body scanner images, helping operators identify concealed weapons, narcotics, and other contraband while improving consistency and supporting final screening decisions.

TekDetect analyzes X-ray images by outlining detected anomalies with a yellow dashed box. The facility operator then reviews each highlighted area, determines what is present, and annotates the anomaly with a classification. Security personnel create classifications and assign each one to one of three color-coded detection levels of green, yellow or red.
