Cooltron Releases New Guide for AI Server Cooling Engineers

CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - July 26, 2026 - PRLog -- Cooltron just dropped a new technical guide for thermal engineers wrestling with AI server cooling. The timing could not be better.

Data centers are getting absolutely hammered by heat right now. Those new NVIDIA H100 and Blackwell chips are beasts. The old rules for picking cooling fans simply do not cut it anymore.

"Everyone looks at CFM first. That is the wrong move," said a Cooltron spokesperson. "In these cramped AI racks, static pressure is what actually matters. Without it, your fans stall out and your GPUs throttle hard."

The guide walks engineers through the real numbers. Most AI servers pack so much hardware into tight spaces that air resistance shoots past 1.5 inches of water. Standard fans choke under that load. Cooltron says engineers need to study the P-Q curve and pick high-static-pressure models built specifically for the job.

Power is another headache. Spinning fans at 30,000 RPM on 12V rails sucks down serious current. That means thick cables, bulky connectors, and wasted energy turning into even more heat. Cooltron is pushing 48V systems instead. The current drops by about 75 percent. Thinner wires, less stress on connectors, and cleaner airflow through the chassis.

Then there is reliability. AI workloads do not take breaks. These fans run flat out for weeks or months straight. At those speeds, cheap bearings die fast. Cooltron makes it simple. Go with dual ball bearings or plan on replacing fans way too often.

Smart controls matter too. The guide breaks down why high-frequency PWM, RPM feedback, and locked-rotor alarms are not nice-to-haves anymore. In a massive cluster, one dead fan can snowball fast. You need the BMC to know instantly when something goes wrong.

The full guide is live on Cooltron's website now. It is aimed at anyone building air-cooled AI infrastructure who is tired of guessing.
