| Heliocan Europe Opens Project-Specific Assessment Route for DC-Coupled StorageThe Stara Zagora team evaluates inverter layout, PV strings, grid terms and market exposure for existing solar parks.
By: Heliocan Europe Ltd. The assessment focuses on DC-coupled storage through the HDC100 system. The 100 kW DC-DC converter is installed between a park's PV strings and its existing inverter. The configuration is designed to store energy on the DC side and return it through the inverter already operating at the site. Each assessment begins with the park's own technical and commercial data. Heliocan Europe reviews the inverter model, string layout, existing grid terms, production profile and exposure to hourly market prices. The purpose is to determine whether a DC-coupled retrofit is worth modelling for that specific site, rather than applying one headline calculation to every park. The Heliocan website reports monitoring data from a 350 kWp pilot installation with 344 kWh of storage. For one monitored battery cabinet on June 6, 2026, the site reports daily revenue of EUR 47.57 with shifted energy compared with EUR 14.64 without the battery, a difference of EUR 32.93 for that day. The same pilot page reports EUR 744.73 from one cabinet during May 2026. These figures describe the monitored pilot conditions. They are not a forecast or guarantee for another solar park. Final performance depends on the site's PV production, inverter capacity, battery size, usable energy, price windows, operating rules and other project-specific assumptions. The HDC100 product page describes 24 string inputs, 12 independent MPPT trackers and up to 215 kWh per battery cabinet. Installation is handled string by string, so project planning can evaluate the retrofit without assuming that the existing inverter must be replaced. Heliocan Europe Ltd. is based in Stara Zagora and is the European branch of Canadian company Heliocan PV Inc. The European office sizes, delivers and commissions DC-coupled battery systems for existing solar parks across Bulgaria, Greece and Romania.
