Wax & Tracks Fest Announces Live Maggot Brain Performance and Limited 600-Copy Midwest Vinyl Variant

CLEVELAND - July 8, 2026 - PRLog -- WAX & TRACKS FEST ANNOUNCES LIVE PERFORMANCE OF FUNKADELIC'S MAGGOT BRAIN IN ITS ENTIRETY AND LIMITED 600-COPY MIDWEST VINYL VARIANT

CLEVELAND, OH — Wax & Tracks Fest, a free outdoor vinyl and independent music festival, will feature a live performance of Funkadelic's Maggot Brain in its entirety on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at The Vinyl Groove Records, 5100 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, OH 44129.

Cleveland indie band Apostadelic, led by Apostle Jones frontman Mikey Silas, will open the festival at noon with the full album performance — a nod to the Cleveland radio tradition of playing Maggot Brain at midnight, a ritual that began on 100.7 WMMS in 1976 and continues today on 98.5 WNCX.

In connection with the performance, The Vinyl Groove Records and Org Music have pressed a limited Midwest-exclusive color vinyl variant of Maggot Brain, remastered from the original Westbound Records analog tapes and cut direct to lacquer at Elysian Masters in Pasadena, CA. Only 600 copies have been pressed, distributed exclusively through 25 independent record shops across Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
