TCTSY '26-'27 Certificate Cohort to Add Lama Rod Owens and Arielle Schwartz

Applications close Aug. 15 for the 300-hour Certificate Program

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - July 8, 2026 - PRLog -- The Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE) is accepting applications through August 15 for its next TCTSY Trauma Sensitive Yoga Certificate Training, running September 2026 through March 2027. The Spanish-language track runs on the same calendar.

Two guest faculty members join this cohort: Lama Rod Owens, author and Buddhist teacher whose work centers on healing and liberation, and Dr. Arielle Schwartz, a clinical psychologist known for her work on trauma and resilience.

TCTSY is grounded in more than 20 years of research, including a 2023 randomized controlled trial published in JAMA Network Open that found the model as effective as Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. The program is approved for 26.5 continuing education credits for social workers through ASWB, and as a 300-hour training through Yoga Alliance.

The certificate is built for yoga teachers, therapists, social workers, mental health professionals, health care providers, bodyworkers, massage therapists, and community leaders and educators working toward a body-based, scientifically validated approach to trauma care.

Newly graduated TCTSY-F facilitators get two years of full access to the Facilitator Portal, CFTE's community hub, which includes free monthly seminars, live and recorded TCTSY sessions for their own practice, ready-to-use outreach materials, and peer reflection groups. Every facilitator also receives one free consultation with a senior mentor each year.

A 20-hour Foundations training is the prerequisite, and applicants remain eligible as long as Foundations is complete before the Certificate Program's start date. Foundations Trainings Remaining Before September:

"Every cohort brings people in at different points in their careers, some straight out of grad school, some twenty years into private practice," said Jenn Turner, Executive Director of CFTE. "What they have in common by the end is a level of specificity in how they work with the body that most trainings don't get anywhere close to."
